Oregon job vacancies hit seven-year high
OREGON — According to a recent survey by the State of Oregon Employment Department, Oregon had 53,300 unfilled jobs in the second quarter of 2015. That number was the highest recorded by the Employment Department’s survey since 2008.
Seventy-six percent of the open jobs were full-time positions and 89 percent of those positions were permanent jobs. While 60 percent of the hiring managers surveyed were seeking experienced applicants, only 25 percent of the open jobs required higher education. The survey also noted that the most difficult positions to fill in Oregon were personal-care assistants, cooks and cleaners.
