Oregon has one of America’s strongest economies
OREGON — Business news website Business Insider has cited Oregon’s economy as one of the strongest in the nation. The study ranked Oregon’s economy as America’s 10th strongest.
Oregon ranked high, thanks to the presence of footwear and apparel giant Nike as well as its 3.2 percent increase in non-farm payrolls and a 3.6 percent GDP growth rate in the last year. Overall, North Dakota topped the rankings, followed by Colorado, the District of Columbia, Texas and Washington.
Business Insider ranked the economies of all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on unemployment rates, gross domestic product per capita, average weekly wages, and recent growth rates for nonfarm payroll jobs, GDP, house prices and wages.
