Avago Technologies chipping in more jobs in Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. — Electronics component maker Avago Technologies is opening a new manufacturing facility in Eugene. The company will renovate the former Hynix chip plant and create up to 250 jobs when the facility begins operations in 2017.
Avago Technologies will manufacture components for mobile phones at the Eugene facility. The company, which is based in Singapore and San Jose, California, makes digital, analog and mixed-signal components for wireless communications, enterprise storage and industrial infrastructure. The Eugene facility will be overseen by the company’s Wireless Semiconductor Division, which is based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
